I wanted to start blogging to further connect with my customers. Here you will get to know me and my brand better and watch us grow.
To start allow me to reintroduce myself...
My name is Tajah Charles, I am 32 years old. I am the owner, designer and pretty much everything else you can think of behind TAJ CHARLES. Our pieces are designed and handmade by me in Toronto, Canada. Though the brand is just over 2 months old, it has been a dream of mine for years (since I was about 11 years old to be exact). Pre-Covid, I was a DJ (DJ Steph Honey) full time for the past 5 years. It was with the income and flexibility of my DJ career that I was finally able to sit down and make the dream of starting my own clothing line a reality. The time spent at home during quarantine gave me the much needed push to take action. I still have a love of music and do hope that I can return to #djlife as I once knew it sometime soon, but for now I am very happy to have this to work on.
I chose loungewear and lingerie because it was something I always gravitated towards since I was in my early teens. Lingerie to me is a chance to really have fun and appreciate your body, the intricate details and luxurious fabrics also add to the appeal. There are just so many options and you can have so much fun with it for yourself and if you choose, for a partner. I have just always really loved it. Loungewear, in our case, is not so much your hoodie and joggers. To me, it is the things you would wear over the lingerie, to bed or the pieces you take with you on vacation. Robes, wide-leg pants, slip dresses, nightwear, etc. Right now our staple is our Robes, but I have plans for lots more in the near future.
